Sweet show in Calgary on Saturday. Clinton St. John opened, and he was pretty good.
Its always cool to see Wintersleep play in not Halifax, just to see that people are completely crazy for them no matter where you are. The show was sold out, and the crowd was completely into it. There was also a ton of people from Nova Scotia as well, which was evident from all the yelling about past shows, and Alexander Keiths. I am pretty sure the Nova Scotians who were there must have been from some place stupid, I would say either Bedford or Sackville, because although there was a ton of singing, the crowd totally blew it on Danse Macabre. It was embaracing, Paul had the microphone ready and everyone was just about to hit this peak of awesomeness, when my world came crashing down. Yeah it was pretty bad, I think the entire province of Nova Scotia, owes Wintersleep an apology for this travesty. Well I guess we made it up with Migration, so it was alright.
Well it was an incredible show, and everytime I see Wintersleep, it blows me away even more. Just the energy and kick in your face rock that they put out, its wild.
I can't wait to see them in Halifax again. And I am really glad I live in Dartmouth and not Sackville.
