Where's the justice?! - UK Tour...

Mon. May 12 - Mo-Ho Live, Manchester, UK

Wed. May 14 - Stereo Glasgow, Scotland

Thu. May 15 - The Great Escape Festival Brighton, UK

Fri. May 16 - Trinity Bristol, UK

Mon. May 19 - Camden Barfly London, UK

Ah, so that'll be the precise time that I'M ON HOLIDAY IN AMERICA!!! then will it? Damn it. If it wasn't for that little detail, I'd have been at all of these. :(

Please come back to the UK again soon, guys!

That really sucks, I'm so stoked they are coming over and its not like we haven't waited long enough. We'll just have to make sure that those of us lucky enough to attend give the guys such a welcome they won't be able to stay away so long next time

it's also exam season, so whilst i would love to go to one of their london dates and the festival i could only do the bristol one, sad times. i feel for you though, going on holiday at the exact time they come over here, would be the most irritating thing.

Well, after my initial song and dance about not being able to go, I am back from the Barfly gig, and what a great show it was (albeit rather short!). The band seemed on form and really enjoying themselves. It was good to hear so much of WTTNS live, as well as a new song "Encyclopedia". I'll type up the full setlist tomorrow...

Re: Where's the justice?! - UK Tour...

'twas indeed an awesome gig, and way too short, I think the band are genuinely surprised and humbled by the reception they had at The Barfly and probably just wanted to promote the new album without realising that they have a reasonable fan base in the UK. Loel was noticably shaking while he was scribbling his autograph on my newly purchased CDs - well chuffed that the merch' guy found a copy of the first album in his little box of goodies!

Wintersleep set list was something like:

Miasmal Smoke & the Yellow Bellied Freaks
    Archaeologists
Dead Letter & The Infinite Yes
    Weighty Ghost
    Murderer
    Search Party
    Encyclopeadia
    Oblivion

Encore - Danse Macabre (yeeeaaaah!) w/ extended instrumental outro

I thought The Boat People did a decent energetic opening and I'll look out for them in future.

Re: Where's the justice?! - UK Tour...

It's also exam time for me, so I didn't make it to any of the gigs.  If there had been a Birmingham gig, I would have gone to that, but Wintersleep don't seem to be the only one's playing a fair few small gigs and NOT coming here.  Ah well.

I'm absolutely gutted, and was quite upset when I found out I couldn't go, as it'll most likely be years before the make their way back rounf here.

    Am I beautiful or worthless?

Nope, not waiting years, not again. The last couple of weeks have been awesome and I have a feeling they are gonna come back soon (hope I'm right on this)

truly beautiful gigs, I'm still on such a high !!!

We'll get longer sets next time too ;-)

Re: Where's the justice?! - UK Tour...

Yep, the audience gave WS an ace reception at Camden Barfly. Hopefully they'll take that as inspiration to play longer sets next time.

I was speaking to Loel afterwards and he said that they have a ferry ticket to use up within 6 months. It's to get them over to Dublin from the UK, but they didn't use it this time around because the Black Mountain singer was ill so the gig was cancelled.

So, fingers crossed they'll be back within 6 months.

Can anyone confirm the setlist I wrote out? Some people got photos, but I was pinning my hopes on getting the actual bit of paper from in front of Mike.

Re: Where's the justice?! - UK Tour...

The gig was awesome wasn't it?  The set list looks about right to me, I think it was pretty standard for the whole tour. Loel apologised for us havin to listen to the same songs but hey, after waiting for over 2 years I'll take what I can get :)

Noticed the crowd were a friendly bunch too, I ended up speaking to loads of people and I probably embarassed myself cause I was on the excited side......
