    Re: tyhi

Hey no bake cookies and granola bars and are alot of fun because you never make the same batch twice.  The possibilities are endless with such additives like berries, nuts, sugars/syrups, oats, chocolate and on.  Then jams, frostings and butters make great toppings, and with a garnish we're talking about things like Nanaimo bars.  However a great basic recipe to begin with would look something like this:

    2cups Granulated sugar

    8tbsp Butter

    1/2cup 2% Milk

    3cups of Oats

    and optional flavours such as:

Cocoa, Berries, Mint, or Magic Baking Powder (And im not talkin the chemical leavener)

Step 1: Combine the sugar, butter and milk (and cocoa is optional but should be added at this stage,) in a saucepan and bring that *** up to a heavy simmer be careful not to burn this, it would suck to clean.

Step2: Take off the heat and add your oats, and your berries, or/and herbs

Cool i hope you enjoy, cooking is fun

    Re: tyhi

Here's the recipe I got from my grandmother...

Take 1 cup of sugar and cream in 1/2 lb of a good unsalted butter

add 3 tablespoons of vanilla extract, 1 cup of buttermilk and 1 egg

combine with 3 cups of quick cooking oats (or 1/2 cup + 1/2 cup of flour)

roll into a tube using Saran-wrap

    and freeze

removed from the freezer once frozen and place the tube in the nearest

refuse container because it tastes like crap and go grab a bag of Oreos.

OK...here, We made these last month and they were good.
