I stumbled upon Wintersleep after seeing a number of links through Amazon against more well-known bands I like.

I decided to take a punt based on the reviews (the website with the download facility was a real blessing for this).

Wow.

Why have I never heard of this band before???? Perhaps being in Australia doesn't help, but I do keep up with the latest Indie news from the US and UK though.

It puts me in mind of another brilliant Canadian band that were never given due credit: The Tea Party.

Anyway, you can all hate me because I still have the joy of two more unheard albums to digest.

I just wanted to lend my voice to all the others who have enjoyed this incredible music.

 

Wintersleep has a very specific aesthetic that more people should be aware of should it hit their fancy. I think I (luckily) discovered them on Wikipedia or something.

Their first albums phenomenal, check them out as soon as you can.
