Great show. Earl Greyhound was surprisingly good. I didn't expect much but they really delivered a top notch show. I loved the live experience of their music; so much better than the recorded stuff. Wintersleep were, of course, great. Drove 3 hours up from Kansas City to see them. The venue, while normally a great place to get close to the band, was horrible. There was maybe 30-40 people there. However, the band really put on a good show, and I love the way they interact with the audience. They played one of their new songs and then threw in an oldie for "their fan from Kansas City" (thank you, very much!).

 

I didn't stick around for Portugal, because it's a long drive and I had to work today. I'm looking forward to seeing Wintersleep in a better venue with more fans. I think I'll need to street team them a little if they make their way through KC someday.

 

(To the band: I really enjoyed meeting you guys before and after the show. Thanks for playing Orca for me; that was very cool. You guys were great. Hope to see you in Kansas City soon. Travel safe!)

Thanks for the great review. Might even get me motivated to make the drive down to Wichita on Thursday night. I'd been leaning against it, but now I don't know. Either way, I'm with you in hoping for an actual KC show some day soon.

I wonder why they did Omaha, then StL, then back to Wichita. They're off tonight, they could be in KC tonight.

 

Oh well. I guess everyone deserves a rest.

Or Lawrence. Believe me, the thought had occurred to me. Wintersleep is along for the ride on this tour, but it is an odd route that Portugal The Man/promoters mapped out in this area. Oh well. The good news is that when Wintersleep comes back through, they'll be headlining -- and playing fulls sets.

We actually are in Lawrence. Yes... we should have played here. We couldn't bring much of our own gear on this trek. We hope to get back very soon!

Lowell - Lawrence is a fun town. They really support indie music there. The venues range from really good, to really bad.
