NEWS Jan. 25, 2010 Mix complete. We have finished mixing our fourth album. The order is yet to be determined, even some song titles are TBC. We gave of ourselves a dead-line of the end of next week to decide on which title we are going with. Two options remain and we will let you know ASAP what the header of this record will be. Mastering will be sorted in February. Very confident that the record will still be out May 18th (17th in UK/EU). We are thick into the artwork process as well. We are very fortunate to have an artist that we have admired over the past few years named Graeme Patterson on board to do the honors this time around. Very excited by the progress. We are making some great headway and we will show you a preview when we have something together! Thanks again to Tony Doogan, such a pleasure working with such a force. Jan. 12, 2010 Tumblr We will post some fun stuff here from now on, could get a bit random. Dec. 18, 2009 Hello lovely peoples. We've just finished up our 2 and half month, 50 shows and some change run in the UK and Europe with our friends the Editors. Aside from having an amazing time we got really good at ping pong, learned how to make the queen smile, and best of all, got to play in some new countries we had never had the chance to before. Poland, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic... welcome aboard! Much thanks again to Editors and crew for a fantastic trip as well as the wonderful Maccabees who were on the European portion with us! We are currently held up in Glasgow at the new Castle of Doom studio location. Vocals and guitars are getting finished up this week! After the holiday break we will track for a couple days starting on the 8th of January and start mixing right after that, finishing up on the 22nd of January. We are gathering artwork ideas with a certain person we have been fans of for a while now. Very excited to see it all come together. We are even at the point of playing around with a few working titles for the new album. Still just thinking though really so our lips are still sealed in that department. We are almost ready to say "It's ALIVE!" in that Dr. Frankenstein sort of way. A tentative release in May of 2010. Hurray! The Postdata record will be available for order in January from the newly launched website www.postdatamusic.com. Postdata is comprised of Wintersleep member Paul and his brother Michael Murphy. Postdata also has tour dates in Europe to boot in the near future with David Bazan. It has been another whirlwind year for us and we are so excited to start the next one. August 21, 2009 Recording After a very busy year of touring, Wintersleep is taking the month of September to work on a new album. Check in on the Twitter page throughout September for updates from the inside. Come October, it’s back on the road with Editors touring the UK. The tour will continue throughout November and December in mainland Europe with Editors and The Maccabees. All dates are posted on the tour page. Hello Poland! August 6, 2009 Jubilee/Sappyfest Fun Maritimes.. Went to Stellarton a few days early to work on some new jams/ iron out older new ones / barbecue and drink ns beers with Loel's and Mike's fam fams.. Played the Jubilee on August 1. Were asked to sign autographs at a designated autograph tent. We went out to do this [reluctantly] to find... no one waiting for us.. except my brother Colin and his girlfriend and Loel's and Tim's parents.. Family.. always there when you need them:) Sappyfest in Sackville was amazing. Essentially they block off a street in the middle of the city for the main stage and there are a few other great bars, George's Roadhouse/Ducky's.. Yummy organic beer and great music.. Jesse & Ingrid. Lots of stuff going on all over the city.. Eric's Trip, Old Man Luedecke, Ladyhawk, Destroyer, Phil Elvrum.. These are people and bands, maybe not "stuff" perse.. but some of our favorites for sure.. Didn't get to see all of it as we only got there on the last night of the festivities.. Definitely something to keep an eye out for next year. You won't regret. Words of advice-- If you're going to Mount Allison in the Fall and are unfortunate enough to be staying in a dorm, maybe steer clear of Windsor House. Maybe they don't use it as a dorm anymore.. Anyway, if you have an option.. just putting it out there.. Rambling a bit.. Such a fun weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out.. Some fun stuff on the proverbial platter o' rock coming up.. February 23, 2009 SXSW 2009 + US AND WESTERN CANADA DATES Wintersleep will travel to SXSW this year to perform a showcase on Saturday, Mar.21st @ 10PM with a bunch of cool bands including Brittan’s Echo and The Bunnymen. There are also several US and Western Canadian dates added to the schedule surrounding the SXSW appearance. Tour dates start March 17th in Houston, TX and the band will travel through Dallas, Austin, LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Victoria, Calgary and Edmonton before wrapping up in Vancouver in early April.
